My take on the book:
Sudha Murty writes in simple yet beautiful English. Though it falls in the category of 8+ years, my 7 year old could read and enjoy these stories.
It takes children to different world through stories of magical creatures like bird with golden wings and golden fish. It teaches life lessons through stories of brave girl who saved her village, women who paid the price for being greedy and the prince who lost his wife after breaking the trust.
Book also offers some interesting stories like how the sea water turned salty, how the smart cook won prize for cooking a simple meal, what message wise father gave to his sons and many more.
It is a very good book for story lovers of all ages. Sudha Murty who grew up hearing and reading lot of stories, has made stories fun and reading enjoyable for the children through her books. This is another gem from her vast collections.
