My take on the Book

Ruskin Bond brings out extra-ordinary stories from ordinary mundane life and connects his readers with Nature. His stories have been mesmerizing generations after generations.

As the name suggests, stories of the book have wisdoms for children. Author has carefully crafted his story “Dust on the Mountains” to make his readers understand about how life in a village is dependent on nature and the ill effects of creating imbalance in nature.

Bisnu’s character makes children aware of the hardships one has to go through to earn a livelihood in extreme conditions. How he keeps himself positive in difficult times and comes back to his roots, makes positive impact on the readers.

Second story “Wild Fruit” brought tears in our eyes. The emotions, insensitivities and vulnerabilities of life are expressed beautifully through Vijay’s story.
